Pharmacy Funding Cuts

Pharmacy funding cuts will dramatically affect patient care in Ontario. Let me be clear – we are not against lower drug costs – provided it doesn’t impact the front-line pharmacy and health care services. We are not fighting to keep professional allowances.

We simply want to be paid for the services that we provide. The real cost of dispensing is $14.00 per prescription NOT the $7.00 that the government drug plan pays us. Professional allowances were necessary to help offset this shortfall.

Our patients have been extremely supportive in our fight. I would like to thank everyone and ask for their continued support.
