Nurse Practitioner
We know that Thunder Bay has a shortage of medical practitioners. Many of our clients are without a regular medical practitioner or may have to wait days or weeks for an appointment.
For these reasons, Janzen’s is proud to offer our clients the services of a nurse practitioner and walk-in clinic. Bob Tinsley, BSc, RN(EC) is a registered nurse who has completed the advanced nursing education and training required of all nurse practitioners in Ontario. Bob has worked extensively throughout the north, and has now brought his practice to Janzen’s, where clients can access his services through our walk-in clinic. If you are house-bound and cannot come to our walk-in clinic, we can arrange for our nurse practitioner to visit you in your home.
Nurse practitioners provide a broad range of healthcare services in Ontario. A nurse practitioner can:
- Diagnose and treat common medical conditions, such as ear or urinary tract infections
- Prescribe certain medications for common medical conditions
